Its UK Technology Centre in Wales not only supports Sony’s product and customer service operations, but also serves as a hub for advanced manufacturing, housing over 30 related start-ups and earning multiple national awards for quality, sustainability, and environmental leadership.

 

The Challenge

Sony Europe’s UK Technology Centre required a compact, energy-efficient, and scalable cooling solution for its internal IT and server environment. Despite their initial interest in ColdLogik Rear Door Coolers for high heat loads, site constraints, specifically the lack of access to a water supply, rendered that option unfeasible.

 

 

What they needed was:

 

  • A dry, self-contained cooling system

  • A small physical footprint

  • The ability to scale or expand over time

  • Compliance with their high environmental and operational standards 

 

The Solution

After visiting the USystems Cheltenham Technology Centre, Sony identified the EDGE-3 Soundproof Micro Data Center as the optimal fit.

It provides up to 12 kW cooling capacity, all within just 1 square meter of floor space.
