If a site has a lease agreement, are busways removable and reusable once installed? And do they have a defined lifespan?
In most cases, busways remain in place for the long term—20 years or more. However, if a lease expires or a facility needs to be reconfigured, busways are fully removable and reusable.
For example, in colocation data centers, a busway might serve multiple tenants over its lifetime. Even if a tenant leaves, the busway remains, and only the tap-offs are modified. If the entire system needs to be relocated, it’s possible—but we always assess feasibility on a case-by-case basis.
As long as the design requirements align and a certified technician inspects the components, a relocated busway can be just as effective as a newly installed one.
