In a world where IT infrastructure is vital to daily operations, Banco Sabadell has taken a bold step forward with the construction of its new data center. This ambitious project was made possible through close collaboration with Omega and Legrand — two strategic partners who brought advanced solutions in power distribution and intelligent energy management.
The Challenge: Efficiency, Security, and Flexibility
From the outset, Omega identified two major challenges:
How to efficiently distribute power at both the corridor and enclosure levels, and
How to deliver energy from the busbar to the equipment—while ensuring seamless integration into the bank’s Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) system.
The answer came in the form of two key technologies: Starline open busbars and Raritan intelligent PDUs, a Legrand brand.

Raritan: PX4 PDU
The all-new Raritan PX4 PDU has built on its industry-leading outlet technology to offer groundbreaking intelligence features that will provide advanced power quality monitoring and metrics.

Starline: High Power Busbar
The Starline High Power Busbar ensures reliable energy delivery from busbar to equipment with a smart, ultra-compact design that integrates seamlessly into DCIM systems for maximum performance, safety, and scalability in high-power data centers.
Tailored Solutions for a Critical Infrastructure
These technologies were not chosen at random. With over 20 years of experience working with Raritan, and the ease of management, rapid rack deployment, and high availability offered by Starline, the decision was clear.
The solutions were further customized with red and blue color coding to clearly distinguish between Branch A and Branch B, minimizing operational errors. Even the power cords were color-matched to simplify identification at the team level.
Security and Cybersecurity: A Top Priority
Security was a cornerstone of the project. Both ends of the power cords were secured to prevent accidental disconnections, and intelligent port management was implemented to automate the deployment of new equipment. In the event of a failure, the system immediately alerts the team to any port status changes, enabling a swift response.
On the cybersecurity front, the new PX4 PDU features an advanced technology platform that significantly enhances protection against cyberattacks. Its monitoring capabilities, combined with full DCIM integration, enable the creation of a digital twin of the data center—allowing real-time monitoring, project simulation, deployment planning, and risk analysis.
A Success Story Built on Collaboration
This project is not only a technical success but also a human one. The collaboration between Banco Sabadell, Legrand, and Omega was key to overcoming challenges and achieving the project's goals.
As highlighted in the final moments of the conversation, this initiative demonstrates how Legrand’s solutions, in the hands of dedicated experts, can build robust, flexible electrical infrastructures ready to meet both current and future demands in data center development.
