Does containment allow higher supply air temperatures?

Yes. Containment allows higher supply air temperatures because it controls and separates airflow. Without containment, hot exhaust air mixes with cold supply air, requiring cooling systems to deliver much colder air to keep IT equipment within safe operating limits. This often resulted in supply temperatures around 18 °C in traditional, non-contained environments. 

With containment, airflow is separated, making supply temperatures to IT equipment more stable. This allows operators to safely increase supply air temperatures, typically to 27 °C in modern designs. 

Raising the supply temperature reduces the workload on cooling systems, lowering energy consumption, and improving overall data center efficiency.
