Which option is easier to retrofit into an existing data center?

Cold-aisle containment is typically easier to retrofit because it places fewer requirements on ceiling plenums, return air ducting, and overall ceiling height.

Hot-aisle containment may require additional overhead infrastructure or airflow management adjustments, particularly in facilities without a false ceiling or defined return air path.

Row-based cooling systems can reduce these constraints and allow flexibility in retrofit scenarios.
