Hot-aisle containment generally offers slightly higher cooling efficiency because it can operate with higher return air temperatures. It also maintains a cooler ambient room temperature, improving working conditions for technicians and extending the time they can work comfortably. 

Cold-aisle containment is often easier to retrofit into existing facilities and can simplify installation where ceiling infrastructure or ducting is limited. 

From a day-to-day operational perspective, both approaches are manageable, but facility design constraints often influence the preferred option.
