Is containment compatible with free cooling or adiabatic cooling?

Yes. Containment is independent of how heat is ultimately rejected from the facility. 

Free cooling and adiabatic cooling systems determine how heat is removed from the building, while containment improves airflow control within the white space. 

Both hot-aisle and cold-aisle containment can be used with these cooling approaches.
