Legrand—the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures

Present in more than 80 countries
with a total workforce of nearly 36,000, Legrand reported 2013 sales of €4.5 billion.

Types de batiments

As the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, Legrand’s offering covers four fields:

  • Control and command of electric power
  • Cable management
  • Power distribution
  • Voice-data-image distribution

In line with underlying global trends, Legrand continues to reinforce its positions in promising markets. In 2013, the USA/Canada zone and new economies accounted for 57% of total group sales.
Legrand estimates that in 2013 around 51% of sales were in renovation, a figure that rose to nearly 60% in mature countries. The electrical and digital infrastructure market accessible to Legrand is valued at over €80 billion.

A comprehensive offer for commercial, residential and industrial markets

Legrand offers a comprehensive range of products and systems tailored to commercial, residential and industrial markets — respectively 49%, 44% and 7% of the Group’s 2013 sales. Perspective

A two-fold ambition for sustainable growth

By focusing on a single core business, Legrand can pursue a two-fold ambition: strengthen its leading positions in electrical and digital infrastructures for buildings, and become the benchmark for smart electrical devices by offering innovative, highly energy-efficient solutions that can operate as systems.

Présence mondiale
The leadership advantage

Operating globally, Legrand holds leading positions in markets including France, Italy and the United States, as well in new economies such as Brazil, Russia, China, and India. In 2013, 68% of sales came from products ranked first or second in their markets.

These strong national positions give Legrand major competitive advantages, including the ability:

  • to sell products that are suitable for most national markets—where installer work practices and consumer tastes can vary enormously, and where products, their operation and their installation must comply with specific standards
  • to offer virtually all of the products needed for an electrical installation—often as an integrated system—from circuit protection panels to the connection of low-current sockets. Solutions like these help customers avoid the costs, risks and delays associated with buying products from different suppliers
  • to build on the familiarity and trust generated by its market-leading products among consumers, installers and distributors, thus strengthening the position of products that are still challengers—and growing its business.
