Answering to global social and technological megatrends, Legrand continues to reinforce its positions in promising markets. In 2014, the USA/Canada zone and new economies accounted for 57% of total group sales, and new business segments represented 29%.

Legrand estimates that in 2014 around 50% of sales were in renovation, a figure that could rise to nearly 60% in mature countries. The electrical and digital infrastructure market accessible to Legrand is valued at over €80 billion.

 

A comprehensive offer for commercial, residential and industrial markets

Legrand offers a comprehensive range of products and solutions operating as systems tailored to commercial, residential and industrial markets—respectively 49%, 44% and 7% of the Group's 2014 sales. From control and connection interfaces to cable management, power distribution and voice-data-image (VDI) systems distribution, Legrand provides a host of solutions designed to manage lighting, energy, networks and building access. The Legrand catalog features a wide choice of over 215,000 products in 81 product families.

Operating globally, Legrand holds leading positions in markets including France, Italy and the United States, as well in new economies such as Brazil, China, India and Russia. In 2014, 68% of sales came from products ranked first or second in their markets.

These strong national positions give Legrand major competitive advantages, including the ability:

  • to sell products that are suitable for most national markets—where installer work practices and consumer tastes can vary enormously, and where products, their operation and their installation must comply with specific national standards;
  • to offer customers almost all of the products needed for an electrical installation—notably as integrated systems—from circuit protection panels to the connection of low-current sockets. Solutions like these help customers avoid the costs, risks and delays associated with buying products from different suppliers;
  • to draw on its strong leaderships to continue developing its positions with distributors, installers and specifiers.
