New business segments present growth opportunities for Legrand

Spurred by technological breakthroughs, social change and the emergence of new needs—in particular linked to developing new technologies—digital infrastructures, energy efficiency, home systems and assisted living continue to grow.

Fueled by long-term social and technological change

Digital convergence and the digital economy are revolutionizing today's lifestyles. Technological barriers separating telephony, television and the Internet are disappearing. Data exchange volumes are rising. Objects have become interactive. These and other trends are opening the way to intelligent solutions for buildings, with interactive new infrastructures that can handle rising data volumes.

At the same time, consumers are responding to concerns about the environment, climate change and energy resources by becoming more and more energy-conscious, making the quest for energy-efficient buildings timelier than ever.

Innovative solutions

To meet these new needs, Legrand is developing innovative solutions for buildings.

Digital infrastructures

Expanding digital technology is changing the way we use everyday electrical devices in profound ways. Today's smartphones, telephones, tablets, televisions, computers, lighting, sound systems, home appliances, cars and other technologies are more interactive, intuitive, mobile and connected. These technological trends are increasing the volumes of data flowing through buildings, but they are also making data exchange richer and more complex—which in turn demands stronger and enriched electrical and digital infrastructures for buildings. Legrand develops products and systems to equip buildings with smart digital infrastructures that can manage data flows—from LANs, the Internet, email and more—and monitor a wide range of equipment, from protection and access control systems to lighting management and energy sensors.

Intelligent PDUs*

Legrand’s connected PDUs don’t just deliver power. They also enable to manage the internal environment of the cabinets where they are installed: energy consumption, humidity and temperature. And they can transmit data as well, enabling users to remotely cut and restore power to servers.

Linkeo VDI enclosure

Linkeo—a comprehensive range

As the entry-segment range for LCS², Linkeo's new VDI enclosures offering is designed to provide the essential functions needed for data cabling. Thanks to a series of accessories associated with Linkeo enclosures, installers have a comprehensive offering that meets the requirements of all commercial projects.

Energy efficiency

Legrand designs products and systems for better energy management and lower consumption, reducing the environmental impact of residential and commercial buildings. Solutions include presence detectors and power-measurement tools such as smart meters and display screens.

Long-term savings with connected ecocompteur

With the new Legrand's connected Ecocompteur, users can measure their electricity consumption in real time, display data on the Internet, and analyze consumption by circuit. The new connected Ecocompteur allows you to track consumptions in real time for better control

DLM: an open, integrated lighting management platform

Digital Lighting Management offer

With Legrand’s digital lighting management (DLM) offer, available on the North American market, users can manage lighting in buildings for optimum energy efficiency. The DLM platform allows control infrastructure at every switch, outlet and lighting load, and is truly open, allowing easy integration with heating, air conditioning, safety lighting and other building systems.

Home Systems

Today's home systems are light-years beyond yesterday's electrical circuits. Designed with a new concept of home in mind, they aim to manage and coordinate every function in your home—tracking consumption, controlling security, adjusting lighting, temperature, audio systems and more.

MyHome Play: the connected home

MyHome Play

MyHome Play is an easy-to-install system that makes every home a smart home. A wireless version of Legrand’s MyHome offer, MyHome Play is ideal for existing installations, allowing users to control lighting and roller blinds, check the temperature of a room, make an empty house seem occupied, and more. With our “smart actions,” managing a home from a smartphone or tablet is child’s play.

Launched in mid-2015, Intuity is Legrand’s new home automation platform for the US market. Easy to install and compatible with the entire Legrand range, Intuity offers centralized, remote control of the entire house—from lighting and heating to multimedia and access control.

Assisted living

From lighted paths and tablet-driven communications systems to "living scenarios"—programmable home environments—Legrand designs and develops innovative solutions that help seniors live at home longer.

Quiatil remote assistance systems

Legrand actimetry systems provide safety for people with diminished independence

In addition to conventional pendant call systems, Legrand is developing comprehensive actimetry systems with sensor devices that can locate residents, monitor behavior and habits, measure health patterns, detect falls, track home temperatures in real time, and more. These connected sensors can analyze incoming data and send alerts to family, friends or care providers as needed.
