Legrand

Following on from the Group's four values – Ethics of behaviour, Customer awareness, Resources enhancement and Innovation all Legrand entities share a Charter of Fundamental Principles that sets out the rules for behaviour and conducting business that must be followed by everyone. A network of sixty or so ethical correspondents in the Group lead the process and ensure compliance with the rules.

Governance

Working in an ethical, transparent way, and communicating with the stakeholders, to ensure sustainable growth, Legrand applies its commitments to all its activities. The aim in particular is to involve the Group's suppliers and customers in its sustainable development approach.

Legrand, Global Compact participant

In line with the Group's values and the Charter of Fundamental Principles, Legrand's endorsement of the Global Compact is a major part of the Group's social responsibility policy.

The Global Compact is a United Nations initiative which aims to endow world markets with responsible values and practices, to enable all people to benefit from the advantages of globalisation. The Global Compact sets out ten principles concerning the respect of human rights, the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment, the protection of the environment and combating corruption.

A transparent process

The performance of the Group's sustainable development process has been recognised by its inclusion in several international indexes that are accepted authorities on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):

 
Legrand confirmed in the DJSI Europe Index

Legrand has been confirmed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Europe, following the september 2011 annual review . The assessment of the firm is made by the SAM rating agency.

 
Legrand shares are included in the FTSE4GOOD index

Created by the London Stock Exchange and managed by the British rating agency EIRIS (Ethical Investment Research Service), this financial index lists companies that are recognised as being ethical and responsible

 
Legrand included in the ASPI and ETHIBEL EUROPE indexes

Based on assessments carried out by the French rating agency VIGEO, Legrand's shares have been listed in the ASPI and ETHIBEL Europe indexes

 
Legrand included in the SAM sustainability yearbook

After analysis of the Group's sustainable development process, the Swiss agency SAM (Sustainable Asset Management Indexes GmbH) included Legrand in its annual classification, which identifies companies with the highest performance in this field: "The Sustainability Yearbook 2010". Legrand is ranked as one of the six highest performing companies in the world in the "Electrical Components and Equipment" sector.

Relationships with suppliers

Legrand is committed to adhering to fundamental ethical principles, in areas relating to human rights, labour standards and environmental protection. Legrand expects its suppliers to adhere to the same standards of social and environmental responsibility. Compliance with this purchasing policy is already an important criterion in supplier selection and management.
