10.06.2011Legrand supports emergency aid for Haïti by Electriciens Sans Frontières
In the context of its partnership with Electriciens Sans Frontières (ESF), initiated in 2007, Legrand, represented by its Vice-President France Xavier de Froment, recently presented a cheque for €100,000 to ESF Chairman Hervé Gouyet, to help the GO finance part of its drive entitled "1000 photovoltaïc lamp posts for Haïti in 2011".
The sum was collected by the teams at Legrand's Sales Department France together with its partners in the electrical distribution sector, through a variety of charity events of a musical, sporting or commercial nature.
ESF launched its initiative in response to the devastating earthquake which struck the island of Haïti in January 2011. By providing lighting for the local population, the project aims to enhance living conditions, especially in terms of safety.
